Delete your data
How to delete your Peekly account and everything Peekly holds about you.
The short version
- Email hello@getpeekly.app and ask us to delete your data. There is no delete button in the app yet, so this is how every deletion is done.
- We delete your account, your platform connections and their tokens, all collected analytics and every report.
- It is done within 30 days, and within 7 calendar days for YouTube data. We reply to the address you wrote from when it is complete.
- Anyone who uses Peekly can ask, wherever they live, and it is free.
How to request deletion
- Open the Peekly app and go to Settings. Note the email address shown under Account. If you signed in with Apple’s Hide My Email, it will be a private relay address.
- Send an email to hello@getpeekly.app with the subject “Delete my Peekly data”, and include the address from step 1 in your message so we can find your account. You can write from any address you can read. A private relay address cannot send mail, and we reply to the address you write from.
- Say what you want deleted: everything (your whole account), or the data from one platform only: YouTube or TikTok today, and Instagram, Facebook or Threads once those can be connected.
- We reply to confirm we have your request. If we cannot tell that the account is yours, we will ask you to confirm it before anything is deleted.
- We delete the data and reply again when it is complete.
- If you asked for everything to be deleted, sign out of Peekly on every device or delete the app. A device that is still signed in and opens Peekly after the deletion can cause a new, empty account to be created for it, with no connections and no analytics.
If you no longer have the app installed, email us anyway and tell us the email address you signed in with. If you used Hide My Email, you can find the address Peekly received in your iPhone’s Settings, under your name and then Sign in with Apple.
What is deleted
A request to delete everything removes:
- Your Peekly account: the sign-in record held by our sign-in provider, including your email address, Apple identifier, sessions and sign-in tokens, and your account and workspace records. The provider’s audit log is the exception, described below.
- Every platform connection, including the encrypted access and refresh tokens that let Peekly read your accounts.
- All collected analytics: your account details, daily account figures, posts and their metrics, audience percentages, and the platform responses stored with them.
- Everything Peekly generated from them: insights, alerts and daily reports.
- The collection log for your workspace.
A request to delete one platform removes that connection, its tokens and everything collected from that platform. Insights, alerts and daily reports are built from all your platforms together and cannot be separated by platform, so we delete all of them as well. New ones are produced from your remaining platforms the next time Peekly collects. Your account and your other platforms stay as they are.
Deletion is permanent. It removes the records rather than hiding or deactivating them, and we cannot restore them afterwards.
How long it takes
- We complete deletion within 30 days of receiving your request, or of confirming the account is yours if we had to ask.
- Data that came from YouTube is deleted within 7 calendar days of your request. Insights, alerts and daily reports are built from all your platforms together, so for an account that has YouTube data they are deleted within the same 7 calendar days.
- Peekly stops collecting from your accounts as soon as the connections are deleted.
What deletion does not remove
- Provider logs and backups. Request logs kept by our hosting and sign-in providers, and any routine database backups they hold, are not edited by hand. They expire on the provider’s own schedule and are not used for anything else.
- The sign-in provider’s audit log. Our sign-in provider records sign-in events in an audit log. Its entries can include your email address and IP address, and they are not removed when your account is deleted.
- Service-wide collection log entries. Each scheduled run across all accounts writes one log entry that is not tied to any account. It lists every connection the run touched by platform name, the first six characters of the connection’s internal ID and a status word. These entries stay. They hold no account names, tokens or analytics.
- Our emails with you. The messages about your request stay in our mailbox, held by our email provider, so we can show that it was carried out.
- Report data already sent to the AI provider. If AI-written summaries were on, the report data described in the Privacy Policy was sent to that provider when each report was made. It holds that data under its own retention terms.
- Peekly’s entry in your platform settings. Deleting the tokens ends Peekly’s ability to read your account, but Peekly does not contact the platform to remove itself from your list of authorised apps. You can do that yourself in a minute, as described next.
We do not keep any of your analytics for legal reasons. If the law ever required us to keep something, or if we could not delete something you asked for, we would tell you what and why in our reply.
Remove Peekly’s access on each platform
You can withdraw Peekly’s permission on the platform itself at any time, before or after asking us to delete:
- Google and YouTube. Open Google security settings (opens in a new tab), choose Peekly and remove its access.
- TikTok. In the TikTok app, open your profile, then the menu, then Settings and privacy, Security & permissions, and Apps and services permissions. Choose Peekly and remove access. TikTok offers this in its app rather than on a web page.
- Facebook. Open Facebook Apps and Websites settings (opens in a new tab) and remove Peekly.
- Instagram. Open Instagram Apps and websites settings (opens in a new tab) and remove Peekly.
- Threads. Open Threads account settings (opens in a new tab) and remove Peekly under Website permissions.
- Sign in with Apple. To stop using your Apple account with Peekly, follow Apple’s steps to manage apps that use Sign in with Apple (opens in a new tab).
Removing access on a platform means Peekly can no longer read that account. Peekly may keep trying, as the Privacy Policy explains, but the platform refuses it. Removing access does not, by itself, delete what Peekly has already collected. That data stays until you send us a deletion request.
On your device
Sign out of Peekly first, in Settings. That removes your sign-in session from the device. Then delete the app, which removes the two small preferences it saved there. Both are described in the Privacy Policy.
Checking on a request
Reply to our confirmation email, or write to hello@getpeekly.app, and we will tell you where your request stands. More about how Peekly handles data is in the Privacy Policy, and the rules for using Peekly are in the Terms of Service.
